Our guest... Alice Moore
Alice Moore is a military veteran, healthy lifestyle blogger and coach. Her passion is to inspire others through sharing her own personal struggles with negative self image and weight loss. She stumbled upon bodybuilding through her own personal fitness journey toward her best self and will be competing in her first bikini competition in 2019.
The Conversation
Alice is in DAY TWO of her very first bikini prep!!! EEK! So excited for her.
She wants to help send a message that bodybuilding is not as crazy as people may think.
She spent 2018 in a reverse/build, for the very first time in her life.
She grew up with little direction from her family around wellness and being healthy
This led to a depressed state of mind, where food became comfort
She hit over 200lbs in High School
By around 20 she had lost 50ish pounds by simply MOVING her body. But that wasn’t enough in her family… she had to deal with things like her mom saying “why can you be skinny like her?”
Later she joined the military where fitness became a core part of her life. It was forced exercise.
She got healthy, but had poor body image. She had used the wrong plan… her body was smaller, but just a smaller version of the same thing. She hadn’t changed her SHAPE.
She eventually broke her yo-yo dieting by trying IIFYM and making a true commitment to change. It became a LIFESTYLE.
She competes for empowerment and confidence. Fitness gave her that.
She recommends finding your outlet, finding your why.
Prep (and getting healthy in general) doesn’t have to take as much time as you think.
On social media… stop comparing yourself!!! What you are comparing to is NOT REAL.
On body image… 20% body fat is a HEALTHY place to be for women. Dont forget that.
On prep… it needs to MAKE SENSE. Don’t force it.
It IS possible to change, but remember the importance of self worth.
Alice found ways to get herself out of the negative. She quit having expectations, and stopped taking things personally.
Now, she’s ready to take it up a notch!!!!
